Alice Ajisafe Literacy Initiative

Since 2022, AAF has delivered focused, results-oriented education programmes that have reached thousands of children across Nigerian communities. Every initiative below is grounded in evidence and designed for lasting impact.

Alice Ajisafe Award for Intellectual Curiosity

Our flagship annual literacy competition, celebrated on World Book Day, gathered over 150 students at the Dzuels Foundation Library in Ijero, Ekiti. Running across four age categories from junior elementary to senior secondary, the AAF challenge uniquely assessed participants on both the volume of books read and comprehension quality. Top performers read up to 13 books during the challenge period, earning national media coverage for the foundation in The Nation, Punch, and Vanguard.

Scholarships Programme

AAF has awarded over 370 scholarships to deserving students, removing financial barriers that would otherwise prevent talented young Nigerians from accessing quality education. These scholarships span basic through tertiary education, enabling beneficiaries to pursue their academic ambitions and break cycles of educational disadvantage within their families.

Book Distribution & Literacy Drives

AAF has distributed over 700 books to schools and communities, placing age-appropriate reading materials directly in the hands of children who would otherwise have little or no access to books. These drives are paired with reading encouragement activities to ensure the books are read, not merely received

LET'S BUILD THIS TOGETHER

We believe that the most durable educational change happens when civil society and government share a common vision.
